POSITION SUMMARY   The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) is seeking applicants for the position of Controller.  The primary functions of this position are to maintain appropriate business and data records and general ledger accounting ensuring financial integrity of the Academy’s business and finance operations and procedures; manage the Academy’s general ledger including overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations, fiscal year-end closing and opening. Prepare timely financial reports; supervise daily business office transactions and supervise periodic audits; assure compliance with policies and procedures; assist with payroll budget planning and guide and oversee payroll processing; and evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software, systems and processes. The Senior Research Specialist is also a key resource for collecting, analyzing and reporting IMSA data and providing access to timely, accurate and actionable information to institutional leaders, the IMSA community, and external organizations. The Residence Life staff is composed of the Associate Director of Student Affairs, 2 Assistant Directors of Residence Life, 2 Area Coordinators, 28 Residential Counselors and 3 Day Hall Monitors.   Area Coordinators are full time, live-in, professional staff members. Key responsibilities include the supervision, mentoring, and training of Resident Counselors, assisting with the development of the residential student leadership program, housing, facilities, hiring, and implementation of the Residential Life Curriculum. The Area Coordinators work with the Associate Director of Student Affairs and Assistant Directors of Residence Life to provide structure, leadership, vision, and development to the Office of Residence Life. The History Department at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy is seeking an instructor to teach university level surveys and seminars in American History to talented high school students. The selected candidate will be responsible for curriculum delivery as well as ongoing development and revision of existing classes. Candidates for the position should have at least a Master’s Degree in History or a related field (PhD preferred). Specializations in History of any STEM-related topic preferred. POSITION SUMMARY Resident Counselors (RCs) are members of a four person hall staff, who work collaboratively to monitor and support a residence hall. Each of our seven residence halls houses approximately 96 students. RCs are charged with directly supporting and developing 24 students in their wing. Through this live-in campus position, RCs facilitate the personal, social, emotional, and academic growth of students through personal interactions and programming in a living learning environment. POSITION SUMMARY IMSA is seeking a 10 month Nurse to work as a part of the Student Health Services team. The Nurse will provide general healthcare and consultation for IMSA students and referral of care to appropriate medical services as needed. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, minor construction, assisting with HVAC systems, and snow removal across the campus.  This position reports to and is evaluated by the Facilities Operations Manager.   Hours/Shift/Work Schedule:  This position is a full time non-exempt position and is second shift. Hours worked: 2:30pm - 11:00pm with a 30 minute break for lunch. Overview The Head Chess Coach is responsible for advising and overseeing activities for the Chess Team. This includes supervising and educating students during all scheduled practices and meetings. The Head Coach is responsible for enriching the life skills of participating members through competition, advising, and mentoring. Some of the learning outcomes of Chess include:   - demands both inductive and deductive reasoning. - requires students to look at a problem, break it down, and then put the whole thing back together. - involves recall, analysis, judgment, and abstract reasoning. - improves decision-making skills. - increases players' self-confidence and improves organizational habits. POSITION SUMMARY Provide moderately complex and responsible fiscal and administrative work under the direction of the Accounting Services Manager and the Executive Director of Business and Financial Services. Position is responsible for auditing, approving and processing purchase orders, expenditures and receipts, preparing financial reports and documentation, and related financial administrative duties.   Hours/Shift/Work Schedule:  This position is a full time non-exempt position.  Hours worked: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
