The school counselor has responsibilities including counseling students on a drop-in basis, providing outside resources for students and families, assessing needs and developing peer support group programs, assisting with the coordination of the sophomore navigation program, assisting in the training of Residence Life staff with appropriate counseling skills, and providing support for student leadership development. The School Counselor will be supervised and evaluated by the Coordinator of School Counseling.

This is a temporary, anticipated 8 week position (could be slighlty more or less depending on Academy needs), filling in for a leave during the Fall 2026 semester. The selected candidate will be responsible for counseling students on a drop-in basis, providing outside resources for students and families, assessing student needs, developing peer support group programs, and assisting with the coordination of the sophomore navigation program as a part of implementing a comprehensive counseling program focused on social and emotional learning. The Temporary School Counselor will be supervised and evaluated by the Coordinator of School Counseling.

POSITION SUMMARY
Resident Counselors (RCs) are members of a four person hall staff, who work collaboratively to monitor and support a residence hall. Each of our seven residence halls houses approximately 96 students. RCs are charged with directly supporting and developing 24 students in their wing. Through this live-in campus position, RCs facilitate the personal, social, emotional, and academic growth of students through personal interactions and programming in a living learning environment.
