Position Overview

Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is hiring three teachers for its inquiry-based, hands-on Saturday STEM programs. This position delivers hands-on instruction to program participants in the St. Clair County, IL area.  All program materials are provided. Each teacher is supported by one or more volunteer assistants. 

 

Each program area will serve up to 24 elementary/middle school students on:  October 24, November 7, and December 5, 2026.

 

Hours/Schedule:  This position requires:

 

  • 2 hours of training (virtually) TBD
  • 8 hours of curriculum review and preparation
  • 5 hours of teaching, classroom set up and take down during each Saturday STEM session date listed above    

Teachers will be paid an hourly rate of $35/hour. This position is not benefits eligible.

  • Attend training and learn curricular content and activities as organized by IMSA Hub Manager.
  • Assist in the organization and implementation of said program.
  • Teach and supervise students as part of the IMSA Saturday STEM programs.
  • Engage with other teacher(s) in the organization of the programs.
  • Communicate with other staff members about programmatic needs.
  • Supervise and collaborate with teacher assistants, when applicable.
  • Organize provided supplies for program.
