Overview

OVERVIEW:
Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is hiring two teachers for its inquiry-
based, hands-on Saturday STEM drone programs in O’Fallon. The program will serve
up to 36 middle school students.

  • Dates: October 3, November 7, and December 5, 2026.
  • This position requires:
    • 2 hours of training (virtually) TBD
    • 8 hours of curriculum review5 hours of teaching, classroom set up and take down during each Saturday
    • STEM session date listed above
    • Teachers will be paid an hourly rate of $35/hour

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  
This position delivers hands-on instruction to program participants in the greater
O’Fallon area.  All program materials are provided. Each teacher is supported by one or
more volunteer assistants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential

  • Attend training and learn curricular content and activities as presented by IMSA
    Hub Manager.
  • Assist in the organization and implementation of said program.
  • Teach and supervise students as part of the IMSA Saturday STEM programs
  • Engage with other teacher in the organization of the programs.
  • Communicate with other staff members about programmatic needs.
  • Supervise and collaborate with teacher assistants, when applicable.
  • Organize provided supplies for program.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education (mathematics and/or science
    preferred.)
  • Strong content background in mathematics and/or science
  • Teaching experience in grade levels indicated
  • Energetic and fun-loving approach to STEM
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
