The Fine Arts Team at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) is seeking a Part-time Choir Faculty. The purpose of the Fine Arts Program at IMSA is to enable each student to develop a fundamental knowledge of the aesthetic, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social aspects of artistic perception, valuing, creation, interpretation and evaluation. Students are challenged to explore the content and meaning of the arts beyond facts, symbolic representation and technical proficiency. Through study of the natural and expressive elements of the arts, students understand feelings at a deeper level and connect the emotive and cognitive aspects of learning.
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule: This position is a part time (0.25 FTE) exempt position. Choir classes will meet from 6:30-8:00 pm in general on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Asynchronous work as well as small group and individual rehearsals will also be expected outside of the regular scheduled class hours, with a minimum expectation for an additional 1.5 hours of contact throughout the week. The choir director is also responsible for 4 concerts throughout the year and preparation of students for ILMEA and solo/ensemble competitions

Work is performed in classroom and office settings with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. SALARY AND BENEFITS
This position is a part time (0.25 FTE) , exempt, 10-month, employment-at-will position. Salary regionally commensurate with training and experience in like-institutions. Rates can be found in the Faculty CBA here. This position is not benefits eligible.
