Position Overview
IMSA is seeking a full time, 10 month + 20 days Coordinator of School Counseling to serve as the lead school counselor and oversee the day to day operations of the school counseling program. The selected candidate will supervise a team of school counselors and counseling intern(s), as well as counseling students on a drop-in basis, providing outside resources for students and families, assessing student needs, developing peer support group programs, and assisting with the coordination of the sophomore seminar program as a part of implementing a comprehensive counseling program focused on social and emotional learning. The selected candidate will assist in the training of residential life staff with appropriate counseling skills and provide support for student leadership development. The School Counselor will be supervised and evaluated by the Executive Director of Student Affairs.
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule: This position is a full time, exempt, 11 month position. Hours worked: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This role generally requires mobility, written and verbal communication, hearing and visual capabilities. Compensation:
This position is a full-time, exempt, 10-month + 20 days, employment-at-will position. Salary regionally commensurate with training and experience in like-institutions with a range of $66,375.61 - $82,969.51. IMSA offers a comprehensive state benefits package (major medical, dental, vision, and prescription) with rates found here, a generous paid time off plan, and a retirement plan through the State University Retirement System (SURS). SURS is reciprocal with other Illinois public retirement systems such as the Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois (TRS) and the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
