Overview

This position provides assistance for all aspects of Summer@IMSA programs/camps. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, be able to work collaboratively with adults and students, have experience working with small and large groups in a professional learning environment, and possess a background in summer camps or STEM. This position pays $15.00/hr and is not benefits eligible.

 

Work dates/times are as follows

  • Friday, June 6, 10am - 2pm for program set up
  • Monday - Thursday, June 9-12, 8:30am - 12:30pm
  • Friday, June 13, 8:30am – 2pm for program take down/transportation of supplies/program set up at Harmony/Emge-Ellis Schools, Belleville

 

  • Monday – Wednesday, June 16-18, 8:30am - 12:30pm
  • Friday, June 20, 8:30am - 2pm for program take down/transportation of supplies/program set up at Fulton Jr. High School, O’Fallon

 

  • Monday – Thursday, June 23-26, 8:30am - 12:30pm
  • Friday, June 27, 8:30am - 2pm for program take down/transportation of supplies back to BelleValley School, Belleville

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for Summer@IMSA student enrichment programs prior to and during programs
  • Help troubleshoot materials and address student/staff needs
  • Interact daily with IMSA students and participants
  • Supervise students (drop-off/pickup, lunch, and recess) and facilities as needed
  • Assist the Summer@IMSA staff with clean-up and storage of materials at the end of the program
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate and 18 years or older
  • Must have own transportation to program sites in Belleville and O’Fallon
  • Experience with working with students in elementary, middle or high school in an enrichment setting.
  • Ability to assess and monitor student safety in a variety of types of settings
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong results-oriented and organizational skills with attention to details.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in relating to multiple audiences including students, parents, staff, and community members.
