    This position provides assistance for all aspects of all Summer@IMSA programs.  Ideal candidates will have experience working with students in grades 3-12, have demonstrated experience organizing materials, and have a passion for STEM.

     

    Hours/Shift/Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday, full time

    • from mid/late May through end of July (Aurora camps) OR
    • for three separate weeks in June and July (Metro East camps)

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare materials for Summer@IMSA camps
    • Help move materials to program locations
    • Support the work of teaching staff and volunteers
    • Interact with program participants and create a welcoming environment
    • Supervise students in program classrooms, lunchroom, and recess
    • Help ensure student safety during drop-off and pick-up
    • Assist with clean-up and storage of materials at the end of the program.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Experience in education, science, technology, engineering, mathematics or similar field required.
    • Experience with working with students in elementary, middle or high school in an enrichment setting.
    • Ability to assess and monitor student safety in a variety of types of laboratory and other educational settings
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong results-oriented organizational skills with attention to details.
    • Strong interpersonal skills in relating to multiple audiences including students, parents, and other staff
    • Proficiency with computer applications such as word processing and spreadsheets
