  • Overview

    Position responsibilities include: lead in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of IMSA online teaching and learning presence.

    This individual will be responsible for but not be limited to:

    • Design and facilitate professional training for facilitators, educators and administrators; demonstrate expertise in delivering face to face and online professional learning experiences (including webinars, videos and video-conferencing)..
    • Organizes, develops and manages the implementation of online learning and professional development for schools, district and state education level personnel.
    • Work cross-functionally with program, design, content, partners and marketing teams to come up with a coordinated approach to online teacher PD.
    • Monitors and evaluates the development and delivery of face to face/online courses and resources for educators and students.
    • Implements and supports projects geared to enhancing online teaching using research based and proven strategies.
    • Develops and facilitates training courses in emerging educational technologies.
    • Keeps up to date with technological developments as they impact the integration of technology in instruction.
    • Supports the overall work and day-to-day activities of the office.
    • Other Duties as assigned



    • Operates standard office equipment such as telephone, computer, and calculator on a frequent basis.
    • Receives, processes, and provides visual and verbal information.
    • Occasional irregular hours and travel.
    • Provides timely response to externally imposed conditions and deadlines.
    • Responds to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.


    The minimum qualifications for this position include:

    • Master’s or higher degree in Instructional Technology, Computer Sciences or related STEM field.
    • Extensive experience with technologies and learning management systems such as Blackboard, ePortfolios, Podcasting, Online Support systems, and Mobile Applications.
    • 5 years direct experience in K-12 STEM education (teaching and delivering professional development).
    • Effective STEM integrative teaching and training expertise
    • Familiarity with state and federal education and research funding agencies
    • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of current trends in educational technology
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals and diverse populations
    • Knowledge of state and national educational standards
    • A valid Illinois driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
    • Schedule flexibility with limited evening and/or weekend hours


    Preferred qualifications for this position include:

    • 3 years experience in online instruction
    • Experience in working with university faculty and technology partners
    • Background in conducting learning architecture and course design
